God's Country

What's up, my name is Johanna as you probably already know because nobody is going to read this who doesn't already know me. I have been called to serve an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Manchester, New Hampshire Mission. It's kind of a big deal.

I am not one of those soon-to-be sister missionaries that has a count down on my phone of the days until I enter the MTC... I find that slightly stressful. I have about 2 months to go until I enter the MTC on July 17. Pretty cray- and to think I thought I had so much time to prepare when I got my call on February 28th.

I have spoken to a few people who either served or lived in the Manchester mission/area and they all just rave about it. They swoon over it's beauty and say the spirit is really strong there because my mission includes the birthplace of Joseph Smith. Holla. I love the Spirit and I love Joseph Smith. One person told me that there's more trees than people... that's okay, I've always liked trees a little bit better anyways. But the one thing that really stuck with me is the guy who I met at a wedding last week in Texas that told me at least 10 times that New Hampshire and "that area over there" is God's country. Straight up "God's country." I'm not exactly sure what he meant, but I have 18 long and wonderful months to figure it out. Let the journey begin.
